Do you have an app to schedule appointments?
Yes, the app is called, “Loc Lov Salon.” It can be found in the Android and iPhone app stores. To see service prices in the app, you must create a profile. You will then see prices under the “Prices & Pay” menu.
Does Loc Lov color hair?
Yes, we use a rich, vegan organic color by Original Minerals (O&M).
How does Loc Lov typically start locs?
At Loc Lov, we use a detailed and intricate system called the diamond part system. This part system allows hair to fall in place and present a fullness in volume similar to loose hair. With the diamond part system, locs look dynamic even when they are in need of maintenance. Loc Lov starts traditional locs with two-strand twists, never coils or gel twists.
Do you do sister locs?
We color, cut, and style sister locs. However, we do not offer the sister loc method at this time.
Can I do a consult over the phone, and is there a fee?
Our consultations are done in-person only. The fee is $20. However, if you schedule a hair service at Loc Lov salon, the cost of your consultation is absorbed into your first service cost.
Is there a late arrival fee or a “no call” / “no show” fee?
There is no late arrival fee, if you arrive within the grace period of 15 minutes. Whether or not your grace period can be extended is determined by the stylist you booked, and is based on other scheduled appointments. However, if your grace period expires and your appointment must be cancelled by the stylist, then a $50 late cancellation fee is applied to your account that must be paid at or before your next appointment.
Is there a fee to cancel an appointment?
We require a 48-hour notice to cancel a booked appointment to avoid a late cancellation fee. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 48-hours notice, a late cancellation fee of $50 is applied to your account and must be paid at or before your next appointment. Please note that you cannot make a cancellation through the Loc Lov app, you must call or text the Loc Lov phone to cancel your appointment.
What loc maintenance technique does Loc Lov use?
Palm roll maintenance and interlocking maintenance are the techniques we use.
How long does my hair need to be to start locs, instalocs, or loc extensions?
To start locs, instalocs, and loc extensions, you need about 3 inches of growth. The softer the texture of your hair, the more techniques may be needed to ensure the locs remain secure, which may involve an additional fee. For instalocs, in cases where the hair has a looser curl pattern, hair longer than 3 inches may be required.
What is your recommended product line?
We happily endorse Haku Holistics as the natural product line used in the salon. Haku products are retailed and can be purchased in the salon. If you would like to order Haku Holistics online and for more information please visit the website here.
Do you do faux locs?
At this time, we do not offer this service.
Do you do loc extensions?
Yes, we offer permanent loc extensions.
Do you offer instaloc’ing and interlocking? If so, what's the difference?
We offer both, and both involve using a tool. For instaloc’ing, the tool is comprised of 1 or more very small hooked needles that are used to create locs from clients’ loose, non-loc’d hair. Instaloc clients arrive without locs, but leave the salon with locs in one service appointment. Interlocking involves 1 hooked needle used to tighten and lock new growth at the base of the scalp, securing it in place, which ensures prolonged, neat maintenance.
Do you comb locs out?
We do not offer a loc comb out service at this time.
Do you do natural, loose-hair styles?
Yes, we provide a short list of natural, loose-hair style options. At this time, we do not have a dedicated natural, loose-hair stylist. However, if you’re looking for a natural blow out, our stylist, Deyon, is your guy.
Do you offer barber services?
Yes, we have one dedicated barber who provides services on Thursdays only. We also have a loctician who offers barber services.
Do you offer any facial or body care services, such as waxing?
Yes, we will have an esthetician on staff to offer full-time services in our dedicated beauty and personal care room.
